Job purpose
This role combines deep technical architecture expertise with strong customer-facing capabilities. The Salesforce Solution Engineer acts as both a technical authority and trusted advisor, responsible for designing scalable Butler Suite solutions on Salesforce while supporting customers throughout their lifecycle.
The role ensures that solutions are technically sound, aligned with Salesforce and PDF Butler best practices, and successfully adopted by customers. It also involves clearly explaining, demonstrating, and showcasing how solutions integrate within the Salesforce ecosystem to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
By bridging business needs, technical execution, and customer success, this role contributes directly to revenue growth, solution quality, and long-term customer retention.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
1. Customer-Facing Technical Advisory (45%)
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Provide architectural guidance and best practice recommendations
- Support customers during onboarding and expansion phases
- Identify optimization and upsell opportunities from a technical perspective
- Compare customer requirements with documentation and code
- Setup custom demos for complex use-cases
- Find technical issues with customer implementations
2. Technical Pre-Sales & Demos (30%)
- Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations
- Support Sales in technical discovery sessions
- Contribute to technical validation during the sales cycle
- Answer complex technical questions from prospects and clients
3. Solution Design & Validation (15%)
- Design high-level solution architectures
- Validate feasibility of integrations and customizations
- Work with internal development teams when deeper technical execution is required
- Help build, improve and maintain components that are widely used
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams
- Provide structured feedback from customers
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing
Experience and Qualification
- Strong experience within the Salesforce ecosystem (mandatory)
- Problem Solver, can debug customer errors in Flow, Apex, LWC, browser console, …
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Consulting, or Pre-Sales Engineering roles
- Strong background as a Salesforce Developer
- Experience designing solutions both within and outside Salesforce
- Deep understanding of system architecture, integrations, APIs, and data flows
- Experience working in customer-facing technical roles with direct client interaction
- Solid programming knowledge (e.g. Apex, Java, or similar)
- Experience in SaaS environments and multi-system architectures
- Salesforce certifications such as:
- Administrator
- Platform Developer II
- Salesforce Technical Architect (nice to have)
